Praised by the European News Agency for his “magnetic charisma, vocal refinement and dramatic subtlety”, Chinese baritone Cao Yixiao has built a career spanning China, France, Italy and Malaysia. A graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, he is currently a doctoral candidate in Music Performance at UCSI University and is based in Kuala Lumpur.男中音、歌剧演员。毕业于上海音乐学院，获马来西亚思特雅大学音乐表演硕士学位，现为该校音乐表演博士在读。先后师从黑海涛教授、张春良教授、廖昌永教授、陈星教授。专业实践横跨中国、法国、意大利、马来西亚、新加坡等地，曾主演和参演莫扎特《唐璜》、拉威尔《孩子与魔法》、普契尼《波希米亚人》《贾尼·斯基基》、梅诺蒂《电话》以及中国原创民族歌剧、原创音乐剧等作品。

The title role of Don Giovanni has become his signature: first sung in Argelès-sur-Mer, France, in 2015, and revisited in 2025 with Kuala Lumpur City Opera in a production honoured with Best Group Performance – Vocal at the 21st BOH Cameronian Arts Awards. His repertoire also includes Marcello in La bohème, Ben in Menotti’s The Telephone, Marco in Gianni Schicchi and the Clock and the Black Cat in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, alongside leading roles in contemporary Chinese opera and musical theatre. In October 2026 he sings Giorgio Germont in La Traviata for The Opera People in Singapore.唐璜一角是他的代表角色：2015 年在法国阿热莱斯-叙尔梅尔首次演出，2025 年在吉隆坡城市歌剧院再度饰演，该制作获第 21 届 BOH 卡梅隆艺术奖“最佳集体演出（声乐）”。2026 年 10 月，他将在新加坡 The Opera People 制作的《茶花女》中饰演乔治·杰尔蒙。

His competition honours include the Gold Award at the Schumann Inspiration International Music Competition (2017), First Prize at the Asian Music and Dance Arts Festival in Korea (2014) and Second Prize at the Chinese Vocal International Competition, held at Singapore’s Victoria Concert Hall (2013). Off stage, Cao works as a dramatic coach and stage director, and organises the Malaysia International Vocal Competition.除西方歌剧和美声演唱外，他长期参与中国艺术歌曲、民族歌剧、古谱诗词与琴歌的表演和传播实践。
